Enjoying Your Summer!

It is important for educators to utilize their summer to recharge and regroup.  Deb Delisle, Executive Director of the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, shared an article this month encouraging educators to recharge during their summer vacation.  She discussed the important role that we, as educators, play out on a daily basis for our students.  We offer them security, excitement, wealth of knowledge, and understanding every day that we have the opportunity to be among them.

Enjoy your summer fun and relaxation with family and friends!  I hope it helps prepare you for an exciting school year to facilitate learning with students.

Research Writing Made Easier

Infohio has a great new resource to assist the teaching of the research writing process.  Key steps of the process are divided into six learning modules. Students can work through each module in three steps.  These three steps allow for an opportunity to LEARN, PRACTICE, and MASTER the topic.

Teachers can utilize the modules in class to teach full lessons or in a mini lesson to introduce or review a new step.  Small group learning could take place as students practice and develop good writing habits. Infohio is available for students to utilize at home and makes a great resource.

Not only does this new resource assist students in learning the research components, it allows them to think critically about their writing process. Writing across the curriculum is vital for student success as they develop as writers.  Standards for literacy in history/social studies, science, and technical subjects are applicable to all content teachers in grades 6-12. We hope this resource benefits many!
